About Timothy Johnson

Timothy Johnson is a Brooklyn-based jazz pianist, composer, and educator. His work combines modern jazz improvisation with contemporary composition and production, spanning solo and ensemble performance, and original recording projects.

Timothy holds an MFA in Performer/Composer from California Institute of the Arts and a BM in Jazz/Commercial Music from California State University, Fullerton.

Timothy is the creator of the recording projects Sweet Potae and Music by Gestalt, through both of which he has released multiple albums of original music, and music recordings for film and media.

He is the founder of Dreamsong Music Lab, a Brooklyn-based music school and studio, along with Dreamsong Books, an immersive series of piano story books and videos. .
